Land Registration Case Study 1: United Kingdom

land%20registry%20logo.jpgWorking in partnership with PB Training and Development Solutions Ltd, Geolink Consulting provided a series of Continuous Professional Development presentations for over 200 Land Registry senior legal staff and region managers. The presentations formed part of a "road show" around England and Wales that gave the audience an opportunity to better understand the way in which Ordnance Survey topographic maps are produced, and some of the common differences between deed plans and Ordnance Survey maps that can appear to be contradictory.

Land Registration Case Study 2: Lithuania

alna.jpgGeolink Consulting Ltd provided input into an EU Structural Funds project in 2006 aimed at introducing on-line access to the Lithuanian Land Registry for notaries (solicitors). The service became operational in 2008 and according to the Lithuanian Chamber of Notaries "All Lithuanian residents and legal persons will be able to conclude agreements by means of the new electronic service regardless of their place of residence and location of their property. Those who wish to purchase or sell real estate will make an appointment with a notary, conclude an agreement, and then wait for a reply regarding registration of the right of ownership. Notaries will check the required data at the Centre of Registers and send the Centre the required documents over the internet."

Working in conjunction with Lithuanian software company Alna UAB  Geolink provided  a report for the NETSVEP project giving comments and recommendations on the system being developed, and making comparisons with systems in other countries, including the on-line processes and methodologies being developed by HM Land Registry and Registers of Scotland in the UK.
