The programme for rolling out the various components of INSPIRE can be found in the INSPIRE Work Programme, Transposition Phase 2007-2009.

In section 2.6 the Roadmap describes the key dates and cross references the activities with the relevant article in the Directive.  Some of the more significant dates in the roadmap for implementation of the INSPIRE Directive were: 

 

  • 15th May 2007    INSPIRE Directive is published
  • 15th Aug 2007    The INSPIRE Committee is formed (EC and MS representatives)
  • 15th May 2008    Adoption of Implementing Rules for the creation and updating of metadata
  • 15th May 2008    Adoption of Implementing Rules for Discovery and View Services
  • 15th Nov 2008    Adoption of Implementing Rules for download services
  • 15th Nov 2008    Adoption of Implementing Rules for data exchange
  • 15th Nov 2008    Adoption of Implementing Rules for co-ordinate transformation service
  • 15th May 2009    Adoption of Implementing Rules governing the access rights of use to spatial datasets and services for Community institutions and bodies
  • 15th May 2009    Provisions of the Directive come into force in all MS
  • 15th May 2010    Implementation of provisions for monitoring
  • 15th May 2010    Metadata to be made available for Annex I and Annex II data
  • 15th May 2010    Discovery and Network view services to be made available
  • 15th May 2010    The EC establishes and operates a community level geo-portal
  • 15th May 2010    MS first report to the EC
