GIS Case Study : Road network, London Boroughs, UK
uploaded-file-64738For a variety of reasons, for example planning and assessing the volume of work required for maintenance, it is necessary for Local Authorities to have data that accurately depicts the road network under their responsibility. In 2005 Geolink Consulting Ltd worked in partnership with Capital Consultancy and PBTDS Ltd to provide the network of "C" class roads for all the London Boroughs. This involved data collection, questionnaires and interviews with representatives of all 32 London Boroughs in order to obtain information about the definition of the network and other attributes such as width and speed limits etc where these were available.

GPS Case Study: ALBPOS permanent GNSS network, Albania
uploaded-file-43727Working on behalf of the Center of Legal Competence, Vienna, and in conjunction with a GPS expert from Austria, Geolink Consulting Ltd provided a short term expert to the EURALIUS project between Sep 2007 and Dec 2007 to help to formulate the technical specifications for ALBPOS - the Albanian permanent GNSS network. Geolink Consulting was also able to bring experience from working with INSPIRE to perform a brief analysis of the use of spatial data in Albania. The outcome of this input was a report on spatial data, and a set of specifications, delivered to the EC delegation in Tirana, that will be used as a basis for the technical dossier used to establish a contract for the provision of the network.
